On his 55th birthday, Bobby Deol surprised his fans with his first look as the mighty Udhiran in the upcoming Tamil film Kanguva, starring Suriya in the lead role. The actor shared the poster on his Instagram account and wrote, “Ruthless. Powerful. Unforgettable. Presenting the first look of Udhiran from Kanguva. Thank you Suriya sir and Siva sir for this opportunity. #Udhiran #Kanguva”

The poster shows Bobby Deol in a fierce and menacing avatar, sporting long untidy hair and a necklace of bones with blood marks on it. He is also seen surrounded by hundreds of people as he keeps a stern look on his face. The poster has a dark and gritty tone, hinting at the intense and violent nature of the film.

Kanguva, which means “The Man with the Power of Fire” in Tamil, is a fantasy action film directed by Siva and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations. The film also stars Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj and others. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and editing by Nishadh Yusuf.

Kanguva marks Bobby Deol’s debut in Tamil cinema and his first collaboration with Suriya and Siva. The actor, who is known for his roles in Hindi films like Gupt, Soldier, Humraaz, Apne, Race 3 and Housefull 4, has recently made a successful comeback with web series like Class of ’83 and Aashram. His performance as Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala in Aashram earned him critical acclaim and a huge fan following. He is also set to reprise his role in the third season of Aashram, which is expected to release soon.

Kanguva is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, as it features Suriya in six different roles, spanning different time periods and genres. The film is said to be a magnum opus with a budget of around ₹300–350 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films to date. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically in early 2024 in standard, 3D and IMAX formats.
